5,000 Watts Continuous, 10,000 Watts Surge — Engineered for 36-Volt Battery Banks

Hardwire to the AC direct connect terminal for full-power loads, with front-panel monitoring and multi-layer fault protection built in.

The AIMS Power PWRINV500036W is a 5,000-watt modified sine wave power inverter built to convert 36-volt DC battery power into usable 120-volt AC household power. If your off-grid system, mobile setup, or heavy equipment runs on a 36-volt battery bank — common in golf carts, utility carts, and forklift-style battery packs — this inverter is sized to match that voltage for more efficient performance under heavy loads.

Key Features & Benefits

Every spec on this inverter is built around one goal: dependable AC power from a 36-volt battery bank, with the headroom and protection to handle real off-grid demands.

5,000W / 10,000W

Continuous Power With Surge Headroom for Motor Starts

Run 5,000 watts continuously, with 10,000 watts of surge capability to ride through the momentary power spike when pumps, compressors, and other motor-driven equipment switch on.

30-48V DC Input

Matched to 36-Volt Battery Banks for Better Efficiency

Built to run from a 30 to 48V DC source, this inverter is sized for 36-volt battery banks — the kind used in golf carts, utility vehicles, and forklift-style battery packs — where the higher input voltage means less current draw and less voltage drop in your cables at the same wattage.

AC Direct Connect Terminal

Hardwire for Full 5,000-Watt Output

Each of the four AC outlets is rated for a maximum of 1,500 watts. To draw the inverter's full 5,000-watt capacity for a single large load, use the AC direct connect terminal to hardwire your equipment straight to the inverter.

90% / 95%

High Efficiency Across the Load Range

Rated at 90% efficiency under full load and 95% efficiency at one-third load, so less of your battery's stored energy is lost as heat — more of what your battery holds actually reaches what you're running.

4 Outlets + Meters

Front-Panel Volt and Amp Meters

Four standard 3-prong AC outlets handle everyday plug-in loads, while the front-panel volt and amp meters let you check battery voltage and current draw at a glance — no separate monitor required.

Auto-Reset Protection

Built to Handle Faults and Keep Running

Over-temperature and overload LED indicators, internal fuse protection, AC output short-circuit protection, and auto-reset on most fault conditions are paired with an aluminum case and a thermally controlled cooling fan to keep the unit running reliably.

Setting Up for Full-Power Loads

The four AC outlets on this inverter are each rated for a maximum of 1,500 watts per the UL guidelines for the receptacle type — that's normal for any inverter with standard household outlets, and it's fine for running multiple smaller appliances and tools at once. But if you have a single large load — a well pump, an air compressor, a large shop tool, or similar equipment that draws close to or above the 5,000-watt continuous rating — you'll need to wire that load directly to the AC direct connect terminal block rather than plugging it into one of the front outlets. This lets you access the inverter's full continuous and surge capacity for a single circuit.

Note: The AC direct connect terminal and DC battery connections should be wired by a qualified installer or electrician familiar with high-current 36V DC systems. Always size cables and fuses to your battery bank's voltage and the inverter's rated current draw.

Who the PWRINV500036W Is For

  • You run a 36-volt battery bank. If your system is built around 36V — common with golf cart batteries, utility cart packs, or forklift-style battery banks wired in series — this inverter is matched to that voltage for more efficient operation.
  • You need to power one large load. If you're running a well pump, compressor, or shop tool that draws near or above 1,500 watts, the AC direct connect terminal lets you hardwire up to the inverter's full 5,000-watt continuous rating.
  • You want surge capacity for motor starts. The 10,000-watt surge rating gives you headroom for the brief high-draw moment when a motor-driven appliance kicks on.
  • You want at-a-glance battery monitoring. The front-panel volt and amp meters let you track battery voltage and load current without adding a separate monitoring device.
  • You're equipping an off-grid cabin, workshop, or mobile setup. Standard 3-prong outlets handle everyday plug-in loads, while the direct connect terminal covers your bigger equipment.
  • You want built-in fault protection for daily duty. Overload, over-temperature, short-circuit, and auto-reset protection are designed in, so the unit can recover from common fault conditions on its own.

AIMS Power PWRINV500036W — Frequently Asked Questions

What battery voltage does this inverter need?

This inverter is designed for a 36-volt DC battery bank, with an operating input range of 30V to 48V DC.

Can I plug a 5,000-watt appliance into one of the outlets?

No. Each of the four AC outlets is rated for a maximum of 1,500 watts. To use the inverter's full 5,000-watt continuous capacity for a single load, that equipment needs to be hardwired to the AC direct connect terminal.

Is this a pure sine wave or modified sine wave inverter?

This is a modified sine wave inverter with phase correction, suitable for most tools, pumps, motors, and general household appliances.

What's the difference between the 5,000W and 10,000W ratings?

5,000 watts is the continuous output the inverter can sustain. 10,000 watts is the surge rating — short-term headroom for the brief power spike that occurs when motor-driven equipment like pumps or compressors first starts up.

Will this work with golf cart or forklift batteries?

Yes. The 36V input is intended for battery banks built from golf cart batteries, utility cart packs, or forklift-style battery banks wired in series to 36 volts.

How efficient is this inverter?

It's rated at 90% efficiency under full load and 95% efficiency at one-third load.

What happens if the battery voltage gets too low or too high?

The inverter sounds a low-voltage alarm at 31V ± 0.5V and shuts down at 28V ± 0.5V to protect your battery bank. On the high side, it has input voltage protection at 48V.

What's the warranty on this inverter?

The PWRINV500036W carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty covering parts and labor from the date of purchase.
