Full 3000 watts of continuous output with built-in GFCI protection and a direct-connect terminal block — in a compact, aluminum-case inverter built for RVs, work trucks, and off-grid solar systems.
The AIMS Power 3000 Watt Modified Sine Wave Power Inverter (PWRINV300012120W) converts 12V DC battery power to 120V AC at a full, sustained 3000 watts — with 6000-watt surge capacity for motor-start loads. ETL Listed and conforming to UL 458 and CSA C22.2 No. 107.1-01 standards, it meets the certification requirements demanded by OEM installers, commercial upfitters, and fleet operators. A dual GFCI outlet and a direct-connect AC terminal block give you flexibility to plug in appliances or hardwire high-draw equipment directly to the inverter's full output.
Designed around real installer and operator feedback, this inverter packs commercial-grade safety certifications and practical output flexibility into a compact, mountable package.
ETL Listed and conforming to UL 458 and CSA C22.2 No. 107.1-01 — the certification tier required for professional vehicle upfits, fleet installations, and OEM applications where safety compliance isn't optional.
Run heavy loads continuously at 3000 watts with up to 6000-watt peak surge capacity to handle compressor and motor startups without tripping the inverter.
The dual GFCI outlet works like a standard bathroom outlet — if it trips for safety, press the reset button to restore power instantly. No tools needed.
The AC terminal block lets you hardwire a single high-draw load — delivering the inverter's full rated 3000 watts directly to equipment that can't use a standard plug.
At 90% efficiency with a no-load draw under 1.4A, this inverter conserves battery capacity — important for extended off-grid or overnight use where every amp-hour counts.
The PWRINV300012120W includes over-temperature protection, overload protection, AC output short-circuit protection, internal fuse protection, high-input voltage protection (cutoff at 15V), and low-input voltage shutdown (cutoff at 10V). A thermal cooling fan engages automatically under load, and the all-aluminum case dissipates heat efficiently. If the inverter shuts down, the issue can usually be resolved by reducing load or allowing the unit to cool — no damage to connected equipment.

Modified sine wave output works well with most resistive and many motor-driven loads: power tools, lights, fans, water pumps, coffee makers, phone and laptop chargers, and many appliances. Devices that may not run optimally on modified sine wave include some variable-speed motor controls, certain medical equipment (CPAP machines with humidifiers), laser printers, and audio equipment that can produce a slight hum. If your application requires pure sine wave output, AIMS Power offers pure sine wave inverters in the same power range.
At full 3000W output, this inverter can draw up to 300A from a 12V battery bank. For sustained full-load operation, a large-capacity deep-cycle AGM or lithium battery bank is required — typically 200Ah or more at 12V for meaningful runtime. Battery sizing depends on your total load and how long you need to run it. For off-grid solar, pair with a solar charge controller and panel array sized to replenish the bank. Battery cables and an inline fuse (sized for 300A) are sold separately and required for installation.
The dual GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet monitors for ground faults — a mismatch in current that can indicate a shock hazard — and trips to cut power if one is detected, protecting both users and connected equipment. It works the same way as the safety outlets in bathrooms and kitchens. If it trips, remove or check the connected load, then press the reset button on the outlet face to restore power.
The terminal block lets you hardwire an AC load directly to the inverter — bypassing the need for a plug. This is useful for equipment that's permanently installed (like a built-in refrigeration unit or lighting circuit) and for loads that exceed what a standard 15A outlet can supply. The terminal block is capable of delivering the inverter's full 3000W continuous output to a single hardwired circuit.
UL 458 is the safety standard for power inverters installed in vehicles. Many fleet operators, commercial upfitters, and vehicle OEMs require UL or ETL listing to comply with company safety policies, insurance requirements, or customer specifications. This inverter is ETL Listed and conforms to UL 458, making it an approved choice for those commercial and professional vehicle applications.
The PWRINV300012120W includes low-voltage alarm (10.5V) and automatic low-voltage shutdown (10.0V) to protect your battery from over-discharge, high-voltage protection (shuts down above 15V), over-temperature shutdown (above 140°F / 60°C), overload protection, AC output short-circuit protection, and internal fuse protection. These safeguards protect both the battery bank and connected loads under abnormal conditions.
The unit includes a pre-slotted mounting plate integrated into the aluminum case, allowing you to bolt it securely to a wall, floor, or vehicle panel. DC battery connections are made directly to the inverter's terminals. An instruction manual is included. Battery cables and an appropriately rated inline fuse kit are required for installation and sold separately.
